hmmm... by the looks of it out there, i may have to ride a SLED to work if i wanna go today! *L*.... it looks horrible out there... i was just thinking that when the guy i worked with called me, and said to be careful, that there are wrecks, people on the sides of the road, and it's slick as a ribbon, and still snowing...

he called me and woke me up out of bed, lol, and i'm thinking...... did he say SNOWING??? *L*... sure enough, it's snowing... with no signs of stopping anytime soon.... i'm thinkin today might be a hooky day due to snow. lol. There's no actual work to do today... at work. Or not much of it, anyway... i may stay home and put up my christmas tree... PERFECT day for that! [img]smile.gif[/img]
....or, i may trudge my way to work in a bit, and save those last few paid vacation hours til christmas eve.... (i think that's awful, i can't help it... we celebrate christmas on christmas eve... i know it isn't a holiday, but you shouldn't have to use paid time off for it still yet... you should get off for TWO days... so hmmmf. *L*) looks like i may be taking it unpaid this year....
....at least if i wait a while before i go, all the people that are petrified, and also LATE, will be out of the way... if it keeps on snowing like this however, i will be here, drinking my coffee and putting up my tree... and hoping that it's not worse out there tomorrow. lol.

I wish it would snow here. Except the storm we had over the past weekend kind of decimated Oregon and Washington. Several of the roads here in town are flooded or were. We celebrate Christmas on Christmas Eve at my Mom's Mom. And when I lived with her I always felt invaded...LOL. On my Dad's side we do Christmas/Thanksgiving on one day. Not sure why but Dad will be doing the deep fried turkey in the carport. Amazingly enough you let the bird drain when it is done and the meat is so moist and tender once you peel off the skin. It is about the only way I can eat turkey cause it isn't all dried out. [img]tongue.gif[/img]

Please no snow for us....Pleeeeeze! Today we are upgrading the water lines and gas pipes under the house, it is in the mid 40's here today but gonna drop into the 20's tonight.

I have my tree ready to put up in my new house.....

lol.... i LOOOOOVE turkey smoked and deep fried... i was introduced to that when i lived in Charlotte... mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm. yummy. For the last 2 years that i lived there (well, SC at that time, actually) i had my Thanksgiving turkey done FOR me at a place called Sonny's.... which is the best BBQ and etc in the free world! lol... i used to make turkey salad with the leftovers..mmmmmm mmmm smoked turkey salad god my stomach is trying to EAT itself now... *chuckle*.... it would almost be worth the 4 hour drive to go pick one up. they're THAT good... mmmmmm.

*pets CG*... lol. i know, once the initial "hey, it's snowing!!! pretty!!!" is over with it's like, ok.... this was cute for a minute, you can take this stuff BACK now.... [img]confused.gif[/img]

this is our first "real" snow, though, CG, so i'm still all in love with it... haha... especially since it saved me from going to work today... it's snowed several INCHES already since the last time i posted, and the roads are closed. *L* the poor guy i work with, who gets there about an hour earlier than me... is now STUCK there... he couldn't go home if he wanted to, all the roads are closed, lol. I just talked to my boss who said that the police turned them around and told them to go back home... oh, and i watched some guy slide right into the power pole or telephone pole, i dunno which, lol, right outside my house... that was kinda funny, because he didn't hurt anything... he just kinda sat there for a minute, then backed up and took off again...

SO! it is tree decorating for me today, with some yummy starbuck's espresso roast, complete with frothed milk and sugar free hazelnut... MMMMM!

i'm thinkin a nap may be in order, just on general principle first though... lol. then the tree and coffee... and then some posting of recipes on pete's board! [img]wink.gif[/img]

i'm gonna enjoy the HELL outta this last paid day off... *L*

... i figure that a small tree is better than NO tree... last year i didn't put one up.... and it DOES at least have all new decorations! *L* Though i'm wondering how long they're gonna last, with my CAT around... i swear she is part mountain goat... she likes to find the bows on my tree and CHEW them... she ATE 3 of them last year, i had to buy more! *L*... not to mention i had my mom make me a tree topper out of this really really pretty ribbon... grrrr... *nudges her gently with my toe while she lays on my other foot*... lol. now she's lookin at me with that look that says, "what? i haven't done anything!... errr YET!" I have some ornaments. Ones I got from my sister that she was going to throw away that were Mom's and are antiques. Mom didn't want them so I took them before Kari threw them out. I'm leery about putting them up in case the girls come here. I think I'd half kill them if they broke one. A few of them are at least 60 years old.

have a tree here...its in a box in the garage... i aint draggin it in....fuck that..lol as for snow...well you can keep it this year...maybe next year i will take a little...but for now...fuck that shit...

i'd love to have them now that i'm older.... i'm sure some of them belonged to my grandmother....

my fricken tree fell apart earlier! lmao. something broke on the bottom, whatever holds the branches together... the whole bottom part started falling off, i was freaking out! i took some wire and wired it back together, because i had already put the lights on it and i'll be damned if i was gonna do THAT again! i HATE that part! *L*.... if i'd known, i could have just gotten a new one while i was buying ornaments last night...

*sighs*... when i finally end up where i'm supposed to, lol, and i have my own house, rather than a small apartment, i'm gonna get a BIIIIG tree to decorate! [img]smile.gif[/img]
